BBC One has commissioned Initial, the production arm of Endemol UK, to produce two more seasons of the popular game show Total Wipeout. The 24-episode commission will run as two separate series, each including a celebrity special and a returning champions’ season climax. Season four will bring back obstacles such as ‘Rake in the Face’, ‘Crash Mountain’ and ‘Cradles of Doom’, while season five will introduce new wipeout-inducing courses into the mix. Based on Endemol’s global format, Total Wipeout launched on BBC One in January, 2009 and has since sold to broadcasters in 18 territories, including Canada, Australia, Asia and Central and Eastern Europe.
