Current TV in the UK has commissioned a week-long documentary series, Shocked Britain, that will examine in-depth the stories that ‘shook the nation.’ Presented by Konnie Huq (X Factor Xtra), the 7 x 60-minute series will utilize ITN Source archive news footage to present the biggest stories of recent times, including, according to a press statement, ‘the most shocking murders, deaths, crimes, terror attacks, [and] celebrity scandals.’
‘Shocked Britain will explore the news events that have shaped our lives and defined our times,’ said Tom Barbor-Might, Current TV series producer. ‘It includes remarkable archive footage that will take the audience back to the very moment when the second plane hit on 9/11, relive the breaking news reports of the Boxing Day Tsunami and re-examine the Celebrity Big Brother racism scandal. Viewers will remember where they were, whom they were with and how they felt during some of the most extraordinary and memorable moments of the broadcast age.’ The series will air from December 25-31.
