In the spirit of its Big Food Fight season a few years back, Channel 4 is cooking up a new season of fish-specific programming, dubbed The Big Fish Fight, and featuring top TV chefs including Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, Heston Blumenthal, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Arthur Potts Dawson. The network calls the season ‘a timely call to arms for viewers and shoppers to be more aware about the world’s diminishing fish stocks and the potential impact on all of our lives.’
Each chef will host a show that will examine the issues surrounding fish consumption today as well as inform viewers about the right choices to make when buying fish. Fearnley-Whittingstall stars in Hugh’s Big Fish Fight, produced by Keo Films, while Ramsay hosts Gordon’s Shark Bait, produced by One Potato Two Potato. Chef and eco-friendly restaurateur Dawson hosts Arthur’s Hell on High Water, produced by Wall to Wall, and Blumenthal handles Heston’s Fish Feast, produced by Optomen. Last but not least, Oliver presents a series of four-minute programs, Jamie’s Fish Supper, produced by Fresh One Productions. The season will also feature a special Dispatches presentation.
