Latin Side of the Doc wraps up for 2010

Organizers of Latin Side of the Doc report that this year's edition, held from November 30-December 3 in Buenos Aires, brought in 310 participants from 29 countries, including 73 international 'decision makers.'

Organizers of Latin Side of the Doc report that this year’s edition, held from November 30-December 3 in Buenos Aires, brought in 310 participants from 29 countries, including 73 international ‘decision makers.’ Of the 310, 100 came from Europe, 25 from North America, and 185 from Latin America. Prizes were awarded to the following projects: Inside Al Qaeda by Paul Jenkins and Georges Malbrunot and produced by France’s Flach Film Production, named the best European project; Nacer by Jorge Caballero and produced by Colombia’s Gusano Films, awarded the DBA Prize; Juan Alvarez’s Avant, produced by Uruguay’s Tarkiofilm, given the ARTE Prize; Pacífico by Antonio Molina Montecinos and produced by Chile’s Antartica Films, awarded the Best Propject prize from Cono Sur and El tiempo largo y el tiempo corto by Martin Cueva, produced by Ecuador’s Otracosa Producciones and winner of the Canal 7-Argentina award. Latin Side of the Doc / Doc BsAs was organised by Sunny Side of the Doc and Doc Buenos Aires with the support of MEDIA International, CNC, INCAA, ARTE, France Télévisions, Canal 7, and Ventana Sur.
