George Entwistle named acting head of BBC Vision

George Entwistle, the BBC's controller of knowledge commissioning, will be the acting director of BBC Vision, effective January 31.

George Entwistle, the BBC’s controller of knowledge commissioning, will be the acting director of BBC Vision, effective January 31. While the Beeb searches for a permanent successor to the role, Entwistle will replace outgoing BBC Vision head Jana Bennett when she moves to her new position as president of worldwide networks and global iPlayer for BBC Worldwide. Entwistle is also currently controller of editorial standards for BBC Vision, and leads BBC Vision’s knowledge, learning and multi-platform commissioning teams. It’s not known if he will retain his current roles after January 31.
