The debut weekend for the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) pulled in strong numbers, with its three-hour primetime block from 8-11pm on Saturday averaging one million viewers, according to preliminary numbers from Nielsen. Back-to-back episodes of Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes delivered a 1.1 for women in the 25-54 demo. For Sunday, the network averaged 822,000 viewers.
The numbers for OWN, a joint venture between Discovery Communications and Harpo Inc., placed it as the #3 ad-supported cable network with W25-54 at 8pm and 9pm, behind ESPN and USA Network.
