Syfy promotes Mark Stern to president, original programming

Syfy president Dave Howe announced that Mark Stern has been promoted to president, original programming.

Syfy president Dave Howe announced that Mark Stern has been promoted to president, original programming. Stern has been with the network since 2002, and became executive vice president of Syfy in 2003. He has also served as co-head, original content, Universal Cable Productions (UCP) since 2008, a role that he will continue to have. Stern will also have creative oversight of Syfy Films, the newly created joint venture with Universal Pictures.
“Mark is a supremely smart and talented executive, whose unbridled passion, energy and imagination continue to drive Syfy’s world class development team,” said Howe in a statement.
During his time at Syfy, Stern has been responsible for some of the network’s popular non-fiction fare, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International and Destination Truth, as well as hit science fiction series Battlestar Galactica, Stargate: Atlantis and Warehouse 13.
