Global media company Red Bull Media House has brought its entertainment and sports brand to North America for the first time.

Global media company Red Bull Media House has brought its entertainment and sports brand to North America for the first time.

The push into North America is meant to intensify Red Bull Media House’s efforts to create entertainment and sports franchises for the male 12-34 demo.

The North American headquarters will be in Santa Monica,  and will be led by newly-appointed MD, Werner Brell.  He has been with the company since 2008, was most recently part of its leadership team in Austria and played a key role in the launch of Red Bull Media House’s linear and digital channels in Europe. Brell has also held senior roles at MTV Networks and DailyMotion.com.

Brell’s team is made up of Greg Jacobs, newly-appointed head of distribution, who was most recently at NMG as director of business development; Scott Bradfield as director of moving images production; Patrice Radden, director of editorial communications and Kevin Doohan, director of digital media.

Red Bull Media House was founded in 2007 in Austria, to create long- and short- form content for TV and online, derived from the Red Bull brand, as well as events and athletes. Its television output includes No Limits for ESPN, Red Bull X-Fighters for ABC, World of Adventure Sports and Red Bull Project X , both for NBC.
