TLC orders up season two of “Cake Boss: Next Great Baker”

Buddy Valastro’s baking competition series will return to TLC, with the news that the net has ordered a second season from High Noon Entertainment.

The premiere season of Cake Boss: Next Great Baker has been averaging 1.7 million P2+ viewers. The series, hosted by Valastro, sees 10 aspiring bakers competing to win $50,000, a new car, and a job at Carlo’s Bakery. The second season is currently scheduled to premiere in late 2011.

In other Buddy Valastro news, his previously announced weekday series Kitchen Boss begins January 25 and season four of Cake Boss premieres on January 31 with a one-hour episode featuring a visit from Rachael Ray.

All three series are produced for TLC by High Noon Entertainment.
