The W Network has ordered a second helping of Come Dine With Me Canada. The Corus Entertainment-owned net will begin airing 80 new episodes of the competitive dinner party series, which just wrapped up its first season, this summer. Produced by Proper Television in Toronto and based on a format created by ITV Studios in the UK, the half-hour factual hit follows five amateur chefs as they plan and host a three-course meal for their fellow participants.

The 80-episode order brings the number of shows produced for Canadian market to 120. “No one’s ever asked us for 80 episodes of anything before,” Proper Television president, Guy O’Sullivan, said. “This combined with our other long-running shows means we now have a really strong platform for further growth.”

Come Dine With Me premiered on Channel 4 in the UK in 2005. The format has been sold to more than 20 markets worldwide.
