Masayuki Matsumoto, the newly-named president for Japanese public broadcaster NHK, has named Naoji Ono as its new vice president.
Ono, currently president and CEO of NHK Enterprises, will assume his new post on February 10. He’d joined NHK in 1971 as a program director, and held key posts in the program production department as well as in programming and corporate planning before moving to NHK Enterprises in 2007.
“I am very humbled by the duty and responsibility of the vice president’s post,” said Ono about the appointment in a statement. “NHK is about to draw up its next corporate plan, and we must undertake further reform. I would like to make the most of my experience in the business arm and support President Matsumoto as we take on this challenging task.”
