Optomen International, the distribution arm of Optomen Television, is reporting a raft of sales in French-speaking territories for series starring surly superchef Gordon Ramsay.

The chef’s latest series is Ramsay’s Best Restaurant (pictured), produced by his shingle One Potato Two Potato for Channel 4. It’s been sold to French DTT network W9, as well as Discovery Italy.

Meanwhile, the first four seasons of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares have been bought by French online channel Teva and French-Canadian cable channel Evasion, which ramped up its Ramsay content by taking Kitchen Nightmares USA and both seasons of Gordon’s Great Escape. Kitchen Nightmares USA was also sold into Spain, to air on Antena 3’s Neox.

Also, Paris-based prodco Coyote has optioned format rights to Great British Waste Menu, a 90-minute “food event” that features the nation’s top chefs turning discarded but perfectly edible food into tasty dishes.
