Discovery Channel has announced the promotion of Camilla Carpenter from VP, strategy and network operations, to senior vice president.
Carpenter will report to Edward Sabin, group chief operating officer for Discovery and TLC Networks. She will support Sabin in building year-long and long-term strategic plans, identifying critical business issues, analyzing deal strategies, liaising with commerce and licensing divisions, and managing all aspects of third party partnerships including output deals and the BBC. She will remain the point person for all business issues connected to Discovery Networks International.
“Discovery has been fortunate to have Camilla’s steady hand in formulating and articulating our network goals and strategies. She is smart, fast and cool under pressure – all key ingredients in ensuring smooth and successful transitions over this past year,” said Clark Bunting, Discovery Channel president and general manager.
Before working at Discovery Communications, which she joined in 2004, Carpenter was VP of film programming and home video for HBO.
