Central and Eastern Europe rolls out more “Money Drop”

Endemol has announced that game show format The Money Drop has been commissioned by TVP2 in Poland.

Endemol Poland is in production for a 13-episode run of the format, set to launch on primetime in March.

The Money Drop also has second series commissions from Russia’s Rossiya, Kazakhstan’s Channel 7, Greece’s Mega and Hungary’s TV2.

The Russian and Kazakh versions of The Money Drop are produced at a pan-regional production hub in Moscow by Endemol’s joint venture Weit Media. The hub is also the home for the Ukrainian series, currently broadcasting on 1+1.

Turkey has also recently launched a third season on Show TV.

Endemol’s CEO of Central and Eastern Europe operations Marina Williams said in a statement, “Our production hub for the show in Moscow allows us to deliver high value hit programming and we plan to extend our production capabilities to neighboring territories.  Central and Eastern Europe is a key growth area for Endemol [and ] this latest deal in Poland cements the show’s growing popularity.”
