Discovery UK, International sign up Solid car content

Distributor Solid Entertainment’s automotive programming has been picked up by Discovery Channel International and Discovery UK.

The multi-title deal includes Monterey Week and The World’s Most Expensive Cars and series Car Crazy Central for Discovery International’s Turbo slot in the Pacific Rim, Indian, and Asian territories. The package totals 28 episodes.

Discovery UK picked up 36 episodes of the Chasing Classic Cars series, which airs on Discovery HD in the U.S.

Monterey Week brings the week-long Monterey, California automobile event to viewers, with an insider’s view of the cars, parties and dealers.

In The World’s Most Expensive Cars, the special looks at the 1939 Auto Union Type D, which may be the rarest and most expensive car in history.

The 26-episode Car Crazy Central follows “ultimate car guy” Barry Meguiar on his search for the world’s greatest automobiles and automotive events, while Chasing Classic Cars – now in its fourth season- features a master car restorer.
