The Wall Street Journal reports that Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services has boosted its rating on Discovery Communications Inc., due to healthy ad revenue and higher audience numbers.

Discovery Communications is now rated at BBB, two levels into investment-grade territory, with a stable ratings outlook.

S&P credits the ratings upgrade to a “steady stream of cable operator distribution agreements and a slightly lower proportion of revenue from more variable advertising.”
