A shepherd for 50 years, on an annual basis Samucha guides his flock of 2,000 sheep to the high peaks of the Caucasus. But although it’s a life that he loves, and indeed the only life he knows, he realizes he must pass along the staff to his sons.
Directed by Andreas Voigt, this documentary acts as both a breathtaking look at a traditional way of life, and a heart-warming examination of family bonds.
