September Films appoints two in creative, production

DCD-owned September Films has appointed Richard Hansil to take on the newly created role of SVP, creative, and Pamela Covais promoted to SVP production, while the prodco also announces more episodes of Bridezillas.

DCD-owned September Films has appointed Richard Hansil to take on the newly created role of SVP, creative, and Pamela Covais promoted to SVP production, while the prodco also announces more episodes of Bridezillas.

Both hires will be based at the September Films USA office in Los Angeles.

Hansil is responsible for overseeing production and development for September’s expanding U.S. office. Previously, Hansil was an EP on two seasons of Billy the Exterminator for September Films and other credits include Supernanny, The Alaska Experiment and Surviving Disaster.

Covais was previously vice president, production at September Films and she will continue her role as managing director of September Films USA alongside her new role as senior vice president, production. She joined September Films in June 2005 and has helped guide Bridezillas for WE tv and Billy the Exterminator for A&E through their seasons. She also worked on TLC’s Mall Cops: Mall of America series.

In addition to the appointments, September Films will also be producing season eight of Bridezillas. The 23 x 60-minute series will air on WE tv in mid-2011.

David Green, CEO of DCD Media and chairman of September Films, said in a release, “I am delighted to see Richard Hansil join our top creative U.S. pool as we continue to build up transatlantic business.”
