The police officer’s point of view,¬†delivered with¬†innovative camera technologies, will give viewers a new experience in truTV’s series Police POV.

Premiering on April 17 , the series utilizes the Taser Axon (TM) on-officer camera system, a technology developed by TASER International and brought to television through an exclusive relationship with BASE Productions, Inc.

The specially designed cameras record an officer’s point-of-view during every chase, shootout, takedown or confrontation as they patrol, and Police POV will bring the technology to TV for the first time.

Police POV takes the Cops-style genre to an unprecedented level by giving viewers first-person access to an officer’s point-of-view,” said Marc Juris, executive vice president and general manager of truTV.

“We are thrilled to partner with cutting-edge industry leaders like truTV and TASER,” said Mickey Stern, co-owner and executive producer of BASE. “Law enforcement programming is among the most successful genres in television. Reinventing it for a new era is a challenging and exciting opportunity.”
