Discovery Networks International (DNI) is continuing the roll-out of its TLC channel internationally, bringing the network to the Netherlands from July 4.
The channel will have full distribution across analog and digital TV platforms in the region, reaching seven million homes, according to Discovery.
The timing comes roughly a year after DNI rolled out TLC in Norway, a move which represented the first step in an ambitious expansion that aims to put the lifestyle-skewing net in 75 markets and 100 million households by the end of this year.
TLC International is now available in eight European and 25 Asian markets, and is available to more than 50 million households outside the U.S.
“The launch of TLC in the Netherlands continues the strong momentum from the 33 markets we’ve launched to date,” said DNI president and CEO Mark Hollinger. “TLC’s early ratings success is encouraging and we remain focused on continuing to grow TLC into a truly global female-driven brand and a strong complement to our flagship Discovery Channel.”
