DRG and NRK sign format pact

The UK-based distrib will represent the formats portfolio of the Norwegian public broadcaster, with content that ranges from pop trivia to sex education (as seen in Trekant, or Threesome, pictured).

London-based distributor DRG has signed on to exclusively represent the formats portfolio of Norwegian public broadcaster NRK, including entertainment, factual entertainment and scripted formats, worldwide.

The content will be shopped internationally under the brand NRK Formats, and has been created and produced in-house by NRK. Titles include the pop trivia and challenges show Battlepop (called Popstokk locally), social experiment format Teenage Boss, fact ent format Never Ever Do This at Home and an eyebrow-raising sex-ed format dubbed Threesome (or Trekant locally).

“Norway is a world leader for creativity and innovation amongst formatted programming,” said DRG’s managing director of acquisitions, Andrea Jackson. “We feel very passionate about the huge opportunities that the portfolio can achieve.”
