NBC Universal International revamps leadership structure

NBC Universal International (NBCUI) has revamped its top executive structure, with Roma Khanna, former president of Universal Networks International and digital initiatives, leaving the company and former president of Comcast Programming Group Jeff Shell named NBCUI president.

Shell, named chairman of NBC Universal International late last year, said in a statement that his primary goal “is to form our various divisions into one cohesive international business aligned with a common set of objectives, allowing our talented leaders to contribute to a unified strategic vision of future growth.”

Kevin MacLellan, previously president of Comcast International Media Group, is now president of international television for NBCUI. He will move from LA to London to oversee the television business, including sales, networks and production.

Belinda Menendez, who reports to MacLellan as will president of international TV production Michael Edelstein, will have her role expanded to that of president, international TV distribution and Universal Networks International and will also relocate from LA to London. Rowan Conn has been named chief financial officer.

As for Khanna’s departure, Shell said, “Roma is an outstanding executive who has done a remarkable job of building our network business. While I had hoped she would remain part of our leadership team, I wish her much success in her future career. “
