Autentic creates a Spark

The Munich-based doc producer and distributor has launched a documentary channel, Spark, that will pull content from its own factual library and that of ZDF Enterprises.

Munich-based doc producer and distributor Autentic has launched a documentary channel, Spark, that will pull content from its own factual library and that of ZDF Enterprises.

Announcing the new channel at MIPTV, Autentic CEO Patrick Hoerl said the new HD channel will be intended to be a globally available HD channel showcasing a wide range of docs, from wildlife to science to technology. “Our goal is to offer top-notch entertainment for all family members,” he said.

The company is also launching a feature film channel, Freestar, which will showcase in HD independent films from studios outside of the U.S. and competition contenders from assorted international film festivals. Freestar will be available globally as a VoD platform and a linear TV channel.
