AETN International is in talks with broadcasters in Cannes for its topical recent single docs on Charlie Sheen and Elizabeth Taylor (pictured), having sold a two-hour special on the latter into Hong Kong.

The distributor has sold BIO Remembers: Elizabeth Taylor to free-to-air broadcaster TVB in Hong Kong, and says it is close to agreeing on a number of deals for its one-hour special Charlie Sheen: Bad Boy on the Edge, according to AETN International’s MD of international content distribution and commercial development Ian Jones.

The Taylor special aired on the network last month, following the actor’s death at the age of 79, and features original interviews with friends and colleagues including Roddy McDowall, Robert Wagner and Michael Jackson.

As previously reported, among the other shows being offered by AETN at MIPTV is the first season of Heavy (12 x 60 minutes), which follows two participants per episode as they undergo treatment to battle obesity; Storage Wars (20 x 30 minutes), from Thom Beers’ Original Productions; and Beyond Scared Straight (6 x 30 minutes), which examines young offenders programs in the U.S. that put at-risk youth in prison for a day to expose them to the realities of jail.
