Banijay-owned Solar Television is partnering with Talpa to produce reality talent competition The Voice of… in Finland.

A local version of the show, which is set to launch in the U.S. this month on NBC, is to be made for Finnish broadcaster Nelonen.

Maarten Meijs, MD of Talpa Distribution, added: “The pick-up in Finland means the first production of The Voice of… in Northern Europe. This is promising news for Talpa in the Scandinavian market, especially because Nordisk Film TV is our trusted and enthusiastic partner in this region.”

The news comes as Solar unveils a new organizational setup which sees Petteri Ahomaa appointed as CEO, responsible for overall performance and sales to networks.

He will continue working as an exec producer for primetime productions, while Martti Sivonen becomes CCO, responsible for creative performance, new formats and exec producing factual and entertainment productions.

Ahomaa said: “It’s great that Nelonen has recognized the potential of this format.”
