Proper Television has appointed Laine Drewery as executive producer in a move to grow the production company's specialist factual programming slate.

Proper Television has appointed Laine Drewery as executive producer in a move to grow the production company’s specialist factual programming slate.

Drewery’s role is effective immediately. He will also liaise with broadcasters and hire production teams.

“Laine is well known as a top notch show doctor and show runner,” says Guy O’Sullivan, president, Proper Television.”As an executive producer focusing mainly on specialist factual content, he will be invaluable in ensuring Proper manages its expanding roster without compromising the reputation we’ve worked so hard to build over the last six years.”

Drewery has over 25 years experience in writing, directing, and producing. He has worked with CBC, BBC, Discovery Channel Canada, A&E, Discovery Networks International, National Geographic Television, PBS and History Television.

His most recent credits include writing and directing Underground Railroad: The William Still Story for PBS. He also won a Gemini for best director in a documentary series for Hockey: A People’s History for CBC Television.
