Cohen Media Group has picked up distribution for Jeff Prosserman’s Chasing Madoff, a documentary looking at the 10-year struggle to expose convicted fraudster Bernie Madoff (pictured).

The doc is based on the New York Times bestseller No One Would Listen by Harry Markopolos, and is directed and produced by Prosserman with Jeff Sackman, Randy Manis and Anton Nadler exec producing.

The film follows Markopolos and his team of investigators’ 10-year struggle to expose the truth behind the infamous Madoff scandal, piecing together a chain of white-collar characters all linked to the devastating Ponzi scheme.

“Harry Markopolos showed incredible commitment to the perusal of truth as the man who knew that people were wronged by the Ponzi scheme conceived by Bernie Madoff,” said Charles S. Cohen, founder and president of Cohen Media Group.

Prosserman added: “Chasing Madoff is a microcosm of the greed and hubris that plague our turbulent economic times.”

The deal was negotiated by Raquel Liberman on behalf of Dembitzer and Dembitzer and Gary Rubin on behalf of Cohen Media. Andrew Herwitz, president of the Film Sales Company, negotiated the deal for the producers. eOne has distribution rights for the film in Canada.
