Shaw Media adds Eddy

Shaw Media president Paul Robertson has brought a trusted lieutenant, Andrew Eddy, over to the Canadian media company from former employer Corus Entertainment, as vice president of content and distribution.

Shaw Media president Paul Robertson has brought a trusted lieutenant, Andrew Eddy, over to the Canadian media company from former employer Corus Entertainment. Eddy is now vice-president of content and distribution at Shaw Media, reporting to Robertson.

“Andrew brings over 20 years of media experience, most recently as vice president of content distribution and strategy for Corus Entertainment, where he was responsible for distribution strategy and sales for both linear and non-linear programming for specialty and premium television,” Robertson said in an internal memo.

While rising through the ranks at Corus under Robertson, Eddy used his programming expertise to build ties between the broadcaster and cable and satellite TV carriers.

At Shaw Media, Judit Tomka and the distribution and account marketing team will report to Eddy.

Before joining Corus, Eddy was with Chum Television in affiliate relations, and before that held a marketing post at Maclean Hunter Cable TV.

Both Shaw Media and Corus Entertainment are controlled by western Canadian cable company Shaw Communications.
