Indie distributor Multiple Media Entertainment has launched a factual series production arm.

MME Factual, an unscripted producer, will be based in Vancouver and run by Blair Reekie and Mark Miller.

The new outfit will head to the Banff World Media Festival with a slate of 17 new projects in the pipeline.

Reekie was most recently head of The Eyes Television Production, a Vancouver-based factual subsidiary of Peace Arch Entertainment, a Toronto indie producer.

His recent supervising producer credits include Untold Stories of the ER for TLC and Confessions: Animal Hoarding for Animal Planet.

Other series Reekie created and produced include Bulging Brides for Slice, Love it or Lose it! for HGTV, and Campus Vets for National Geographic Channel.

Mark Miller, a prolific TV science producer, is currently shooting Japan’s Quake Hunters for Discovery Channel.

“Blair Reekie and Mark Miller are two of the most successful, prolific, established and respected creators and producers of non-scripted television programs in Canada and we are thrilled to be partnering with them on this new venture,” Michael Taylor, CEO of Multiple Media and also ex-Peace Arch Entertainment, said in a statement Thursday.

The board of directors of MME Factual includes Taylor, Reekie, Miller and Drew Craig, chairman of Multiple Media and a former key financier for Peace Arch.
