Inaugural Critics’ Choice TV Awards reveals nominees

Dancing With the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol are among the multiple reality nominees up for the first Critics’ Choice Television Awards, presented by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, a new arm of the Broadcast Film Critics Association.

The awards will take place on June 20 at the Beverly Hills hotel, hosted by So You Think You Can Dance’s Cat Deeley, who is also up for Best Reality Show Host.

In the Best Reality Series category, the nominees are ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition; A&E’s Hoarders; Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills; TLC’s Sister Wives and Undercover Boss on CBS.

For the Best Reality Series – Competition category, the nominees are The Amazing Race on CBS, American Idol on Fox, ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, Lifetime’s Project Runway, Logo’s RuPaul’s Drag Race and Top Chef on Bravo.

Dancing with the Stars‘ Tom Bergeron, So You Think You Can Dance’s Deeley, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition‘s Ty Pennington, Mike Rowe from Discovery’s Dirty Jobs, and Ryan Seacrest from Idol are all in the running for the Best Reality Host award.

Submissions are still being accepted for The Most Exciting New Series category.

The awards will be broadcast on Reelzchannel on June 22 at 8 p.m. ET, with repeats at 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. ET.  VH1.com will exclusively live stream the awards show on June 20 and will also offer extras such as celebrity interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.
