UK indie production company Wide-Eyed Entertainment (WEE) is coming to America with a Washington, D.C. office headed up by MD and EVP Parule Basu-Barua.

WEE’s CEO Jasper James and creative director David McNab will continue to oversee UK operations from the London home base.

The move aims to build on WEE’s North American relationships and further expand its footprint in the territory.

“North America is an important territory for us and since the launch of WEE in 2008 we have built strong relationships with the major networks,” said Basu-Barua. “The new office will enable us to build on our reputation.  It is important to WEE that we remain close with the broadcasters and are able to deliver programming that rates well for them.”

This news comes on the heels of WEE’s Canadian deal, with CBC picking up Redemption Inc., hosted by Dragons’ Den star, Kevin O’Leary.
