“Project Runway” returns to Lifetime with most designers yet

Lifetime has revealed that its Heidi Klum-hosted series, Project Runway, is returning for its ninth season on July 28 with 20 designers competing, and a new array of guest judges including Christina Ricci.

Lifetime’s Project Runway is returning for its ninth season on July 28 with the biggest number of competing designers to date.

Twenty designers, the most in series history thus far, will take on challenges and try to escape elimination in the 90-minute series, which begins July 28 at 9 pm ET/PT.

Host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn and judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia return for the season, and welcome guest designers and judges including Kim Kardashian, Christina Ricci, Zoe Saldana and Malin Akerman.

 

Also a first, in the season nine premiere, the 20 designers must plead their case to Klum, Kors, Garcia and Gunn to win the 16 coveted spots.

Filmed in New York, the season culminates in a show at New York Fashion Week at Lincoln Center.

Project Runway is produced by The Weinstein Company, Bunim-Murray Productions and Full Picture.
