On the web: City councillor called to carpet for makeover show appearance

The Toronto Star reports that a Canadian city councillor is drawing heat from an appearance on Cosmo TV/W Network’s Rags to Red Carpet, with a former candidate saying the show gave the councillor “an unfair advantage” in winning her seat. The councillor, Amy England, maintains that her appearance on the show and the makeover featured in the Frantic Films-produced series didn’t result in votes, but that it did help her “find herself.”
