Discovery Networks Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) has appointed Vlad Tudosie as its new country manager for Romania and South East Europe, taking over some of the responsibilities previously covered by Phillip Luff.

A former sales director for Discovery Romania, Tudosie re-joins the company following an 18-month position at Intact Media Group, where he was TV sales director.

He will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the South East Europe region and its channel brands including TLC, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery HD Showcase and ID Investigation Discovery.

Tudosie takes over from Luff, who worked as acting country manager across South East Europe, Russia and CIS. Luff has now moved to become country manager for Discovery Networks CEEMEA’s Emerging Business, effective August 1.

Tudosie will be based in Bucharest and his main goal will be to further develop Discovery’s business in Romania, strengthening its presence in the region and to work closely with partners in markets throughout South East Europe including Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovenia and Croatia.

He will report directly to Kasia Kieli, Discovery Networks CEEMEA exec VP and MD. “Having worked with Vlad for many years, I know that his strong commercial awareness and leadership experience will be invaluable in helping us to achieve further growth in the region through ad sales and working with distribution partners to expand our channel portfolio,” said Kieli.
