The goal of the program is to increase Canadian audiences for homegrown features, by helping to stimulate the production of high-caliber, feature-length docs for theatrical distribution and providing financial support for English and French language projects that are deemed “likely to be successful” at home and abroad.

The public-private partnership was previously renewed for a three-year period in 2008. Since 2007, it’s supported over 25 productions including Neil Diamond’s Reel Injun, Lixin Fan’s Last Train Home and La nuit, ells dansent from directors Isabelle Lavigne & St├ęphane Thibault.
