Shaw Media’s Food Network Canada has given the go-ahead to Aussie format import, Family Cook Off (pictured: The Great Aussie Cook Off).

The competition-based reality show will be produced by Vancouver-based Force Four Entertainment, in association with Australia’s BrandNewMedia, which created the series and has licensed it to several international markets.

The show pits two families of four against one another in a three-hour challenge to see which clan can make the best three-course meal.

Family Cook Off (12 x 30 minutes) is currently casting for Canadian families and will be shot in Vancouver starting at the end of August.
