Saugato Banerjee has been named A+E Networks’ director of strategy and business development for Asia, responsible for the continued expansion of the networks’ brands in Asia Pacific.

Banerjee will oversee the company’s strategic business development efforts across Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, he will report to Alan Hodges, A+E Networks MD for Asia Pacific.

“We are aggressively moving to expand the footprint of our channel brands into new territories throughout the Asia-Pacific region, via both traditional linear television channels and on digital media platforms,” said Hodges, adding that Banerjee’s “experience, energy and wisdom are great assets as we chart our next phase of growth in Asia Pacific.”

Banerjee previously worked at ESPN Star Sports, where he was responsible for programming and was involved in several channel launches; and at CNBC Asia Pacific.
