Sundance Channel is making its debut in Greece, launching on the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization’s OTE platform, while sister AMC network WE tv is expanding in Asia.

Sundance Channel is launching on OTE’s 24/7 IPTV platform as a linear channel, and will be followed by a satellite and VOD offering.

The network is also premiering in three Eastern European markets for the first time with carriage on UPC Direct, an affiliated company of UPC Broadband, launching as a linear channel in HD in Hungary, as well as in the Czech and Slovak Republics.

In Asia, both Sundance Channel and WE tv are launching as HD channels on Taiwan’s pay-TV platform DishHD; and via Chunghwa, the country’s largest telecom company.

Ed Palluth, AMC/Sundance Channel Global senior VP of global distribution, said the deals “highlight the growing demand for our entertainment services from some of Europe and Asia’s largest and most advanced content distributors.”

“With our services now available across Canada, Europe and Asia, we look forward to continuing our momentum globally to serve audiences as well as our distribution, production and marketing partners,” added AMC/Sundance Channel Global senior VP and general manager Harold Gronenthal.
