Vibrant TV to launch in U.S.

Chicago-based Zephyr Media Group is aiming for a June 2012 launch for its network dedicated to lifestyle, reality, sports and kids programming from international producers and broadcasters.

Chicago-based Zephyr Media Group is set to launch a network dedicated to lifestyle, reality, sports and kids programming from international producers and broadcasters.

Set to debut in June 2012, Vibrant TV will be an advertiser-supported channel, to be transmitted on as yet unnamed satellite and terrestrial platforms.

Dan Zifkin, CEO of Zephyr Media Group, and the new channel’s program acquisition team will be looking for content from both international broadcasters and independent production companies at the upcoming MIPCOM market.

“American viewers are developing a strong appetite for programming that originates from all parts of the world that is largely being unmet by current channels,” said Zifkin. “Vibrant TV has a mandate of serving as a showcase for the widest array of internationally-produced programming, providing a television window to the world for American audiences and a U.S. broadcast platform for international producers.”
