Eliot Goldberg, most recently SVP of development and original programming for TV Land, is now taking the same post at CMT.

As SVP of development and programming for the Viacom-owned cable net, working out of its Santa Monica office, Goldberg will report to development and programming EVP Jayson Dinsmore, effective September 1.

While at CMT’s sister network TV Land, Goldberg developed and oversaw scripted and unscripted programming for the network, with recent reality credits for TV Land including High School Reunion and Harry Loves Lisa.

Prior to that role, Goldberg was executive VP of programming and development for Ryan Seacrest Productions, where he has been credited with creating, developing and exec producing such series as Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Khourtney and Khloe Take Miami. He also co-developed the ABC series Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution.

Before Ryan Seacrest Productions, Goldberg was VP of alternative programming at The WB Network.

“Eliot’s skill at identifying, developing and delivering hit shows is evidenced by his incredible track record,” said Dinsmore. “His fingerprints are all over some of the hottest shows on television, including Keeping Up With the Kardashians for Ryan Seacrest Productions and Hot In Cleveland at TV Land. I’m thrilled to welcome Eliot to CMT as we continue to take huge, aggressive strides in our original programming development.”
