Distributor SevenOne International has completed a deal for a second season of competitive cookery series Love Bites to be made in Austria.

The German format, which airs in Austria under the local title Messer, Gabel, Herz, mixes cookery and dating, with four male candidates attempting to win over a female using their culinary skills.

Austrian TV station Puls 4 will air the half-hour local version daily at 7.45 p.m., with Vienna indie Concorde Production commissioned to produce.

Puls 4 programming director Oliver Svec said: “Our first run of Love Bites drew an audience share which was 1.5 times higher than our ratings in that time slot.

“The online version is also very popular among our viewers. We couldn’t be more pleased. And this fall we’ll again be doing our share to help shrink the percentage of singles in Austria’s population.”
