U.S. net TLC has commissioned Magilla Entertainment to produce an eight-part series about a mother from Long Island in New York who claims to talk to the dead.

Long Island Medium focuses on the life of Theresa Caputo, who spends her days “helping individuals find closure” and connecting people “to their loved ones who have passed in order to validate that they are still with them,” according to the network.

Each episode will look at Caputo’s work/life balance, as she juggles her readings with her family life, and will see her conducting private and group readings, with both believers and skeptics.

The 8 x 30 minute series will premiere on the net on September 25 at 10 p.m. EST.
