“TV Loves Africa” market event launching October 2012

The umbrella event will incorporate seven complimentary television market and conference events under one roof, including DISCOP Africa.

Basic Lead, organizers of DISCOP Africa and DISCOP Istanbul, will be launching TV Loves Africa, an umbrella event that will encompass seven complimentary television market and conference events, in October of next year.

The events falling under the TV Loves Africa umbrella include DISCOP Africa, the African Sports Rights Market, merchandising/licensing expo Signature, Top News Africa, multi-platform conference Eyeballs, pitching/copro forum Africa Pitches the World, and radio conference Voice of Africa.

All of the events will take place under one roof – the Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg, South Africa – from October 30 to November 2, 2012.

“For the last five years, we have been observing on a daily basis the phenomenal growth of television in Africa,” said Patrick Jucaud, general manager of Basic Lead. “Co-locating seven singular, and yet complementary events dedicated to making and monetizing the best possible content in Africa’s multi-platform environment is a timely and cost-effective response for all parties to be involved.”
