UK-based indie Passion Distribution has been tapped as the international distributor for a slate of UKTV shows launching at MIPCOM, including Watch title Dynamo: Magician Impossible.
Dynamo, who is billed as “the most exciting magician in decades,” performs extraordinary tricks in the series, and will also do so in Cannes, as Passion will be bringing him to the market. Dynamo: Magician Impossible premiered on Watch to an average of 1.7 million viewers per episode, according to Passion.
Passion will also rep another Watch series, the observational documentary The TA and the Taliban, which follows 12 part-time army service members as they head to Afghanistan’s war zone.
From Home, a new series and format from True North Productions, What the Neighbours Did, sees homeowners get inspiration from their neighbors; while seasons two and three of property series My Flat Pack Home will also be represented at MIPCOM.
Keith Porritt, UKTV’s executive director for commercial, said: “UKTV’s slate of commissions is breaking new ground and going from strength to strength in the UK,” while Sally Miles, Passion Distribution’s founder and CEO, added: “The series are a great fit with our existing catalog of programs and enable us to bring some great new shows to excite our buyers at MIPCOM.”
