Zodiak Rights has acquired the global distribution rights to Firecracker Films’ Susan Boyle: An Unlikely Superstar.

The 1 x 60-minute ob-doc, directed by Osca Humphreys (My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding), follows the Britain’s Got Talent sensation over the period of three months as she copes with her global success. The doc also features Boyle discussing her latest album with mentor Simon Cowell.

The film was commissioned by ITV1 in the UK and will premiere there this fall.

“As Susan Boyle’s success shows she has truly worldwide appeal and I’m sure this documentary will follow suit,” said Jane Millichip, managing director, Zodiak Rights. “It will be a centerpiece in this year’s MIPCOM catalog.”
