UK cable net Good Food has commissioned a second season of cookery show Perfect… from Optomen Television.

The 20 x 60-minutes second season was recommissioned by UKTV commissioning executive Julie Swanston, and was ordered by Good Food’s general manager Clare Laycock. It follows February’s first season order.

The second series sees an array of chefs, including Valentine Warner, Thomasina Miers and Allegra McEvedy, going head-to-head to create culinary masterpieces, with each episode showcasing six different recipes.

Swanston said: “Optomen have once again succeeded in bringing exciting culinary talent to the table. Series one was a fantastic success, delivering audiences that were 75% up on slot. With brilliant cooking talent including Gizzi Erskine and Theo Randall, the second series promises to be an even bigger hit and a wonderful addition to our autumn programming.”

Optomen’s Jayne Hibbitt is the series producer and Gary Broadhurst is executive producer.
