“MasterChef” winner returns to TV via Food Network UK

Thomasina Miers, winner of the 2005 series of MasterChef in the UK, is heading up Mexican Food Made Simple, a Blink Films series premiering on Food Network UK next month.

Acquired from Blink Films, the eight-part, 30-minute cooking show sees Miers on a journey through Mexico, finding the freshest and most fiery recipes. Her quest takes her to local festivals, food markets, and unique family celebrations across the country.

After winning the BBC’s MasterChef, Miers spent a year working in Mexico before opening her first Mexican restaurant, Wahaca, in London, which now has four locations. She has also written a number of cookbooks, including Mexican Food Made Simple.

Her TV career, following the MasterChef win, has included two cooking series on Channel 4, Wild Gourmets and A Cook’s Tour of Spain.
