Julien Mignonac (pictured), co-founder of and executive producer at London-based factual producer Red Earth Studio (RES), is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.
Going forward, fellow co-founders and stakeholders Adam Docker and Ces Terranova will take full control of the company. Mignonac will retain a stake in the company, and is understood to be pursuing opportunities in North America, although further details are not yet known.
The trio formed RES in 2003, with the company’s most notable commissions to date having included Discovery titles such as The World’s Favourite Animal and A Farm Life; Sky1 series Vet Adventures; and National Geographic International special Eco Crime Investigators: Inside the Tiger Trade. The latter title won Best News Documentary of the Year at the International Wildlife Film Festival in Montana.
“It’s been an incredible journey and a real pleasure to work with such a wonderful team,” Mignonac told realscreen in an email statement. “I’m very proud of my time at RES and the long way we have come together. I have no doubt that my two co-founders will continue the growth of this fantastic brand, taking it to new heights.”
Red Earth is currently in the closing stages of production on single documentary Columbus, which is due to air in the UK on More4, as previously reported.
