BBC Worldwide to launch channels in Thailand, Taiwan

BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the UK broadcaster, is growing its presence in Asia, with new factual and lifestyle channel launches in Taiwan and Thailand, and further expansion in Indonesia.

BBC Worldwide (BBCWW), the commercial arm of the UK broadcaster, is growing its presence in Asia, with new channel launches in Taiwan and Thailand, and further expansion in Indonesia.

In Thailand, the company will launch BBC Knowledge, BBC Entertainment, BBC Lifestyle and kids channel CBeebies this coming January. In Taiwan, meanwhile, a deal has been struck with Chung Hwa Telecom to launch BBC Knowledge, BBC Lifestyle and BBC Entertainment on MOD, the company’s IPTV platform.

Finally, BBCWW is growing its reach in Indonesia, with BBC Lifestyle now available on NexMedia, alongside BBC Knowledge and CBeebies which are already in that market.
