Claudia Danser, most recently Warner Bros. International Television Production’s VP of sales for Europe, is joining News Corp-owned Shine Group as managing director for its international format division Shine Network.

Current MD Ben Hall will remain in the post until Danser arrives in early 2012, after which he will take a consultative role to the division while also assuming a position with Shine Group, yet to be announced.

At Shine Network, Danser will report to Shine Network president and Shine Australia CEO Mark Fennessy, and lead the fourteen-member team based in London. She’ll be tasked with developing Shine formats internally, building on current successes and overseeing the flow of insight and best practices for Shine Group formats in local production around the world.

Danser was most recently Warner Bros. International Television Production’s VP of sales for Europe, and worked with assorted WB formats and owned IP from Shed Media and other third parties, including Supernanny, The Bachelor and Who Do You Think You Are?.

She was previously EVP sales and coproductions, Europe, for Outright Distribution, the sales and distribution arm for Shed Media, coming aboard at Warner Bros. following its acquisition of Shed in 2010.

“Claudia is a super talent – her experience spans every key region on the globe,” said Fennessy. “She has combined an outstanding degree of success in sales with an impressive record on format development. She has an instinctive feel for content and we welcome her warmly to the team.”

“I look forward to working with the Shine Network team, the group companies, broadcasters and production partners to increase their rollout yet further and help emerging local IP become tomorrow’s global hits,” added Danser.
